Employee Programs

An important role of the Millipore Foundation is to support our employees in their personal philanthropy and volunteer efforts. Through the programs described below, we help Millipore employees “give back” in ways they find meaningful.

Matching Gift

The Millipore Foundation offers a dollar-for-dollar match for contributions made by Millipore employees to nonprofit organizations in the areas of education, social services, culture, health care, and the environment.

Voluntary Service Grant

Employees who devote significant volunteer time to nonprofit organizations in their communities may request program support from the Foundation to assist these organizations. Grants range from $2500 to $5000.

Volunteer Day

The Millipore Foundation offers an annual Massachusetts Volunteer Day where employees choose to participate in a variety of community projects developed in response to employee feedback. In 2007, projects included home construction for Habitat for Humanity in Lawrence, painting at the Parker School in Billerica, food sorting for the Merrimack Valley Food Bank in Lowell, and cleanup of the Shawsheen River in Billerica.

Scholarships

The Millipore Foundation Scholarship program helps Millipore's employees finance higher education for their children. Two awards of $5,000 are authorized for each year. Scholarships are renewable for an additional 3 years for a total award of $20,000.

Carbon Offset Program

Environmental sustainability is an important component of our business operations at Millipore. Therefore, the Millipore Foundation would like to encourage Millipore employees to participate in our carbon offset program. Carbon offsets are donations invested in efforts to enhance the environment and reduce our carbon footprint, such as solar and wind projects to generate renewable energy. The Millipore Foundation has designed a program to financially match employee purchases of carbon offsets. Visit our Sustainability pages for further information.
