REACH Compliance
As it pertains to the REACH directive, many of Millipore’s products are considered articles that do not contain intentionally released substances. We are downstream users or importers of substances and we are working to ensure that all non-exempt substances imported or manufactured within the European Union and used in the production of our products will be pre-registered no later than November 30, 2008, under the conditions of REACH rules.
In that context, we are inventorying and categorizing all the chemical substances, preparations and articles that Millipore imports or uses in the EU. To accomplish this, we are actively requesting relevant information from our suppliers for all substances imported or produced in the EU used in the manufacture of our products.
As we pre-register any substances under our responsibility, we will inform our customers as necessary of any relevant pre-registration information.
Our intent is to continue to produce our products and sustain our business in accordance with the requirements of the REACH directive. We are taking all the necessary steps to ensure our compliance.
In addition, we will keep you informed if you should be impacted by the authorization process. In the case that any substance of very high concern were to be present in a concentration of more than 0.1% in any of our products, this information will not be given to you before the publication of Schedule XIV of Regulation scheduled for June 2009.
